In Living Colour
The start of spring brings in a fresh, new perspective to the silhouettes and color pallet of the season. Gone are the dark muted hues of winter and in are bold and energetic hues of spring and summer.
Free-flowing materials, interesting textures, and prints are the focus of the new season. Silhouettes allow for movement and drama, and are defined by of-the-moment pleats, cuts and embellishments to give it its distinct shape, flow and personality.
Our Spring/Summer Lookbook for 2017 is colorful; impactful; classically feminine; unique; and features rich textures in a dynamic mix of materials that we’re sure you’re going to love. Get ready to make a statement from sunrise to sunset.
Our must-have looks for the season:
Look 1 – Flower Power:
This Technicolor smoking jacket from Jeremy Scott is definitely not your garden variety floral. A true statement piece for the season, this shawl-collar jacket that ties at the waist is adorned with 3D starlight flowers that lights up the room and bring attention to you – and only you. Keep the accessories to a minimum, and wear it with a pair of black cigarette pants and loafers; or with a solid-colored dress; or as a bathing suit wrap for poolside perfection.
Look 2 – Persueded:
Suede is still a key piece for spring and will be an essential transition piece when we move from warmer temps to cooler temps. This suede jacket with fringe trimming from Ralph Lauren is definitely on our “Lust List” for spring. It’s lux suede body and fringe trim give this piece its cool rock-n-roll sensibility. Wear it with your favourite jeans and a t-shirt or wear it with a gown to make an edgy entrance (bye-bye boring shawl).
Look 3 – Get Twiggy with It:
This monochromatic piece on silk-twill from Proenza Schouler brings a whimsical touch to the classic button-up and pant look. An allover twig print lends interest and excitement, while a button-up back gives a feminine update to this classic menswear piece. Button it up for work or loosen it up for cocktail hour.
Designed by Tanya Heath especially for Canada, their first interchangeable bootie. Switch out the block heel for a stiletto to go from a day at the office to a night on the town
Look 4 – Garden Party:
Say hello to your new “I love spring” dress. Red Valentino’s embroidered tulle dress with a blooming garden print gives a cool update to the classic floral print (and who doesn’t love floral for spring?). This midi dress is perfect for weddings or for casual outings during the daytime with a denim jacket. Elevate this sheer piece even further by taking out the lining and wearing it over a bodysuit or a pair of short shorts.
Look 2 – Vest Interest: To makes this this romantic frock perfect for day, slip on a soft cashmere vest and pair it with over-the-boots for the perfect Sunday stroll outfit. Cute pup optional!
