LET’S BE PERFECTLY TRANSPARENT, SPRING USHERS IN NEW WANTS, NEW DESIRES AND NEW PROMISE WHEN IT COMES TO LIFE, LOVE, AND FASHION. WE CAN HELP WITH THE STYLE, THE REST WILL FALL INTO PLACE.

- WENDY

LOOK 1: ON MERIT

Be the envy of style scouts with DSquared2’s take on the denim jacket. With its cheeky riot of patches, it crushes the on-trend nod to the 80s, mashes streetwear cred with military glam and celebrates Canadian iconography beloved by designing twin brothers - Dean and Dan Caten, who’ve never forgotten their Toronto roots. Embrace the “Canadian tuxedo” with a denim on denim paring (now an international trend), by adding the duo’s distressed denim mini with leather lace-up ties or team with a pair of white jeans - Caten style. Either way, this uber cool take on a spring essential is guaranteed to spark smiles and conversation. Scout’s honor!

LOOK 2: STYLE MATH

With a simple change of shoes or the addition of water, these three easy pieces from Moschino will take you from city to vacay, day to night, or poolside. Start with designer Jeremy Scott’s fun, red maillot from the S/S 17 Ready to Bear capsule collection*. The well-cut one-piece achieves double duty as a bodysuit when paired with a Moschino Boutique 3D-flower power appliquéd skirt which packs its own style punch. Add this chic Majorelle blue cropped bomber with its unique tie front and you have an all occasion winning equation.

*Note:

The coveted Moschino capsules frequently become collector’s items. Look for North42’s authentic range of clothing and accessories from these collections.

LOOK 3: BORROW FROM THE BOYS

There’s no escaping, that some of the best looks come from menswear. Take the DSquared2 tuxedo shirt. Rendered in black and embellished with the punk talisman of the ‘80s - gleaming silver safety pins, this traditional marker of formality is immediately transformed into an edgy subversive must-have. Up the androgyny ante with Boutique Moschino’s athleisure interpretation of the collegiate jacket with its contrasting mesh sleeves, but keep it femme with a pair of DSquared2’s distressed five- pocket “Cool Girl” jeans with ankle lace layer trim.

LOOKS 4 & 5: NEW VICTORIANS

This season’s RED VALENTINO collection, expertly showcases the acronym this line is known for - the “Romantic, Eccentric, Dress.” Find two of its best expressions at North42, with these youthful, playful maxi dresses.

Look 4 This black, floral silk boasts a pretty Peter pan collar, lace, and the oh-so new ruffles that appeared in every collection. It’s couture-like elegance allows you to wear it demurely to a garden-party with sexy modesty. To create an unexpected twist on this treasured trend, break it out of its mold and wear with a futuristic Marni ankle boot with cut-out block heels.

Look 5 Color-blocked in black and cream this macramé lace maxi is nostalgically romantic! With its rounded collar, fabric-covered buttons and ivory slip it’s the perfect new Victorian addition to your closet. Wear it literally with a pretty shoe, or street style it with a goth edge and add a lace-up boot.
